Secrets Of The Clyde Trip Date To Be Rarranged,Dungavel Reservoir Staff Night, brothers Meeting At The Tarn

When nothing goes to plan,it never goes to plan, due to the weather and river level TFL decided it was best to set another date for the trip,we want this to be a quality day so its best to wait for the right conditions.

Tuesday we embarked to the Dungavel reservoir, conditions were testing to say the least, but we had captain Scott at the helm with myself and Stewart in tow,yes we were being towed to our drift no rowing for us,well just a wee bit for Stewart.

Brothers Day At The Allandale Tarn

Not having a great week, lost my phone enroute so couldnt get any pictures but 20 plus WEEL KENT MEN fished there erses off the day, fish were very slow and shy for the take although there was plenty of fush zombying about, tried some lures for an hour or so and nothing few rods bending and the inner pressure kicks in,Davy Shearer on the next peg is letting me know about how good my water craft is,he still hasn't hooked up yet.
Changes to a bung set up with 2 buzzers and now it gets interesting losts of hits but no full monty, with the wind in my face manages a decent cast with no tangles lol, indicator submerges gentle fish on,number one as i mention the watercraft side of things to Davy "Aye Yer Funny".
Two hours pass and i have missed lots of takes just cant make them stick.

Enter The ATOM SIX 10ft 4/5# 12ft rio leader and one of my big owls, treats the leader to a mud bath and covers my 1st rise at a fair distance BOOM fish on no2,as Davy Hooks up thanks god,fly dried and waits for another movement,Another top and tail at distance covered with a pin point cast Boom Fush on again,in the net gets the hook out and mr fish has other ideas somersaults out the net, well there ye go.
Lunch time and quick burger and chat at the barbie, tactics is top of the water well that was before lunch,Iona clangs the bell so off we trots,Its back on the wets with rod 1 for an hour and not a touch so its back on it with The ATOM SIX not a lot happening takes are drying up,but manages to cover a fish in blustery conditions and its havin it (BIG OWL) No 3 thats my bag so off to weigh in its the winner though, surprise is to come, managed another 3 fish on the owls before calling a day to a testing shift.
Davy had the last laugh though, his last 2 fish were of good size on a wee damsel pattern i tie for him to give him the spoils at the weigh for heaviest bag,so all's well that ends well, well not for jimmy but thats another story.
