With the weekends fishing activities over,it was a case of HIGHS & LOWS,had a great practice session on Saturday at the Tarn with 7 fish on a busy dreary day,well thats me just pull this off tomorrow might have a chance.

After a pretty good session at the Tarn,i had one duty to perform and that was to deliver the Deer Creek International Box of flies that were so kindly donated from over 30 Deer Creek endorsed Pro-Tyers,from all over the planet.
I didn't expect what occured and i have been so humbled this week by our teams respose for the amazing Event that George & Senga from New Haylie Fishing Loch Just outside Largs what a special place what a special team and all involved.

At final presentation ceromonies the banter was unsurpassable from all involved,i have been informed that the event has raised over £7000 with more to be raised with some auctions and donations i hope our International Box will do well.

Well The weather outside has been dreadful with little opportunity to get the lines wet,was lucky enough to get a call from Ledgend Of The Clyde Scott "Scooby" fancy a day at the Nith is the shout.

So to cut a long story short we arrived at Thornhill Beat,but to our disnmay she was running big and coloured so that was that chapped on the heed as Scooby says lol.

The season has kicked off well with fish over 3lb being netted by local anglers,the pics are from the last few seasons i havent had many large grayling but hopefully that will change with the Christmas Holidays looming hopefully i will one DAY JOIN THE 3LB CLUB i can only dream

Fishing Friend From Far Away In Ozz 

Andy Baxter You Are Missed Thanks For The Fishing Friendship Good To See Some Big Troots From New Zealand

Hi there.
Just returned from New Zealand. These pics were taken on the banks of the Hinemaiaia which runs into lake Taupo. I was fishing 4lb leader (had to go up to 5 lb on 2nd day as I got broken twice the first day) We fished 6 days during the two weeks. First 3hrs or last 3hs of day light. During  the 6 days  I hooked 54 trout landed 32 and got broken 3 times ( never even saw these 3) The smallest landed was 4lb the biggest 10.25lbs . All taken on glow bug size16 on tail or hair and copper Immature on dropper it was size 14. I only killed 2 trout. John Black smoked them and they were great.  Smoking was done with tea tree sawdust and apple tree chips. We are now back in the warmer weather on the Gold Coast. Hope you are all well talk to you soon.
